A Guide to Scheduling Air Conditioning Installation in Merritt Island

Monday, September 23rd, 2013

The temperatures in Florida don’t relent much after summer ends, although you can expect a few cooler days as the fall deepens. If you are thinking about scheduling an air conditioning installation in Merritt Island, FL, the fall is one of the smartest times to do so. You may have just moved, are planning to build a home, or have decided that your old system has come to the end of its lifespan. Whatever the reason, Steve Hoskins AC has the years of experience and professional know-how to help you pick the best system for your home and get it successfully installed.

When you start thinking about the installation of a new AC, keep in mind that the installation process is an enormous task. It doesn’t just involve putting in the various components and hooking them up; it also requires sizing the AC and determining the appropriate placement of the various units to make sure it will give you the best performance. Since you shouldn’t handle any of these steps yourself unless you’re a trained HVAC specialist, you will need to call professionals and schedule a time for them to perform the installation.

One reason that fall is one of the best times to get installation done is because it comes between two busy seasons for HVAC companies. Summer heat means numerous air conditioning breakdown emergencies, and even though Florida residents don’t have to worry about harsh winters, they do have to worry about extreme weather conditions that can wreck heating and cooling systems. During the fall, you will have an easier time getting an appointment for installation that works for you and the HVAC company.

Since autumn can still have blistering hot days that reach into the 90s, don’t delay if you need a new AC installed. Call on the experts at Steve Hoskins AC for air conditioning installation in Merritt Island, FL. We will perform the sizing to select the best system for your home, and then give you a high quality installation that will keep you cool for years. We install the best brands, including Trane, and take pride in the work we do.

Why Replace My Air Conditioning in Cocoa Beach, FL?

Monday, September 16th, 2013

Modern air conditioning is a must if you make your home in Cocoa Beach, FL. And your air conditioner may not be as modern as you think. It might be time for an upgrade, and Steve Hoskins AC is the company to turn to when you need the work done. We can also help you make the crucial choice about which kind of system will give you the best results.

We’re going to go over a few reasons you might want to replace your air conditioner:

Increase energy efficiency: If you’re considering a change in your AC, it’s probably because you know you have an older system. Even if it still pushes out the cold air you want, and its motors and fans keep humming, there’s a good chance that it’s putting a drain on your energy bills because years of wear are forcing it to work harder. If you’ve noticed that your electrical bills have climbed and remained high, getting a new air conditioner might solve the problem.

Avoid abrupt breakdowns: If your air conditioner has needed more repairs than usual during the last few years, even with regular maintenance, then the system is much more likely to have an abrupt shut down that could leave you very uncomfortable until repairs are made. Replacing your air conditioner with a new model reduces the risk that you could be stuck with a broken AC during the high heat.

Take advantage of new AC options: With new types of air conditioners now available, you might find that one of them fits your needs much better than your older one. With the availability of ductless systems and two-stage ACs, there are now choices that could provide you with better temperature control and more energy efficiency. Get an HVAC technician out to your home so you can get expert advice on what system will work best for your needs.

At Steve Hoskins AC, we know that making the choice to install a replacement air conditioner is a large one. We can make the process less burdensome with our skills and up-to-date knowledge. When you are ready for a new air conditioning system in Cocoa Beach, FL, contact us right away!

Why You Cannot Delay Air Conditioning Repair in Cape Canaveral, FL

Monday, September 9th, 2013

Our balmy, warm weather means we have an almost year-round need for air conditioners to keep us cool and stave off the humidity. When you notice something going wrong with your AC—its air feels less cold, strange noises start rattling from it, or water begins leaking—you shouldn’t spend time hoping the problem will go away. Even if you are still getting cool air, other serious problems could be building up. Scheduling prompt air conditioning repair in Cape Canaveral, FL is the best way to prevent serious damage to your system.

Air conditioners don’t fix themselves, and unless you are a professional HVAC technician, you won’t be able to drag out a basic toolkit and solve the problem on your own either. Steve Hoskins AC has professionals on staff who have the skills and tools needed to repair your air conditioner the moment it starts giving you problems.

Here are a few specific reasons you shouldn’t delay on air conditioning repair:

  • More expensive repairs in the future: A single problem in an air conditioner can lead to a chain reaction of other problems. A malfunctioning fan belt or broken fan blades can strike other components and damage them. Clogged air filters can cause frost to form on the evaporator coils. You don’t want to suffer numerous or expensive repairs, so call a professional to come to your home to fix the first problem before it multiplies.
  • Air quality: If you think to yourself, “I can sweat this out a few more days,” you should know that a malfunctioning air conditioner might be lowering the quality of air in your home. You want to be breathing air free from pollutants, especially if you suffer from allergies.
  • Inefficiency: Nearly any problem in an air conditioner will cut down on its efficiency. When this happens, the unit will work even harder to provide cool air. In the long run, this will increase your electrical bills and decrease your AC’s lifespan. It’s better to get those repairs done right away—or else you may end up needing to replace the entire system.

Steve Hoskins AC has provided excellent air conditioning repair in Cape Canaveral, FL for over a quarter of a century. We have all of Brevard County covered as well. Contact us today—the sooner the better if you have an air conditioner that’s misbehaving!

Happy Labor Day!

Monday, September 2nd, 2013

On the first Monday of every September, we celebrate Labor Day in honor of workers everywhere who strive to make our local community and country great. We enjoy the holiday like any other business as a time for BBQ, hanging out with friends and family, and celebrating the end of summer. It also means the start of the NFL and college football seasons.

The origins of Labor Day are disputed, as is the case with many other holidays. Some cite Matthew Maguire, the machinist and secretary of the Central Labor Union of New York, while others cite Peter J. McGuire of the American Federation of Labor. By 1894, the holiday had become widely recognized and was designated a federal holiday by Congress and President Grover Cleveland immediately following the Pullman Strike, which pitted US Marshals and US Military against employees of Pullman Palace Car Company outside Chicago. At the time, it was a way of recognizing the importance of our workers’ contributions.

Today, we see Labor Day as an opportunity to recognize all the people who work hard to contribute to our county. Thank you, and Happy Labor Day from all of us!
